ABOUT THIS SITE

This web site is the result of my desire to share the Word of God.  It is mostly the result of what God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost has taught me over the years.  As a husband and father I have much to be thankful for.  Both my wife and I have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our Son and Daughter are also Born Again. My Mother and Father (who are now with the Lord) were both saved. Both of my sisters are saved including one brother-in-law and both of their children.  There is no question that as a family we have been truly blessed.  Since the Word of God tells us that God wishes that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9), I look forward to seeing the balance of my family come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

I was involved as a Sunday school teacher in several churches.  I taught mostly adults although in one of the churches the age span in my class ranged from 19 to 89 with approximately 75 people attending.  There was no question that God had anointed me to teach. For the longest time I could not understand what was happening.  By nature I find it very difficult to speak in front of people.  But when the anointing of God is on you, anything is possible.  One time I was even given the Sunday Service during the Pastors absence. At the end of the service God asked me to invite anyone in that service who needed help from God to come forward.  I really didn’t want to do that because I felt I was not qualified to do such a thing.  But I obeyed the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Because of the anointing that was on the Word that was spoken that day, over 75% of the church came forward. This was just another confirmation that God’s ‘Church’ needs help.

A while back I was thinking that even though my family and I have been  blessed, there must be more that I could do to further the Kingdom of God on this earth.  I see all around me broken  family’s, and people that are truly hurting.  I noticed that if I would ask someone “how are you doing”, usually the response is “I’m hanging in there”.  I know that this has become a cliché.  But when I look into the eyes of that person sometimes I get the feeling that it’s more than just a cliché.  Many times I see hurt, disappointment, and even a feeling of hopelessness.  Of course very few people would admit that they are feeling that way.

Surely there must be more to life than just our day to day routine. I needed to know that in the end my life would have made a difference to others and not to just my own family. I began to feel powerless to really help anyone.  Yes I can give of my money and time, and these are things that all Christians should be doing as they can.  But there was another problem.  I had to admit that my life was not truly matching up to the Word of God.  Look at these scriptures.

The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.    John 10:10

Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:12

And these signs shall follow them that believe;  in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;  they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  Luke 16:17-18

It became obvious to me that I would not have the “abundant life”. I would not do “greater things” and I would not “lay hands on the sick” and see them recover unless I were more like Jesus.  Although Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God in heaven, I need to be just like he is on this earth.  I knew that I would have to so closely  match up with Jesus that when others or the devil would look at me, they would only see Jesus.  Impossible you say,  not really!

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  Ephesians 6:11

And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may  prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  Romans 12:2

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  Romans 13:12

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.  Romans 13:14

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Mathew 5:48

So this is the reason I have put forth this web site.  I believe that it is inspired by the Holy Ghost and anointed to do Gods perfect will in this world.

I believe that as I progress on this journey to draw closer to God and to be as he is in this world (Matthew 5:48), that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost will use this web site to inspire others to do the same.

As for the name of this web site “Covenant Newsletter”.  All of God’s Word (The Good News) that will appear in this site is all part of the covenant (or promise), that God made with Abraham, and his seed which is Jesus Christ. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you are also one of Abraham’s seed, and the promise belongs to you also.

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.   Genesis 17:7

And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.   Galatians 3:29

You may have noticed that I have not identified myself in any way.  I feel that if any good comes from this web site then to God be all the glory!  As the Lord gives me inspiration, I will continue to add articles to this web site.

May God bless you in all that you do and may you truly experience the abundant life (John 10:10).

Love in Christ,
